Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern access to and use of the ChipRegister.com pet identification and microchip registration platform.

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. Acceptance of the Terms

By accessing ChipRegister.com, creating an account, registering a pet, making a payment or using any related service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy and any additional conditions shown during checkout.

If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the service.

2. Service provider

Service provider: ChipRegister.com
Country: Spain
Support: support@chipregister.com
Privacy: privacy@chipregister.com

3. Description of the service

ChipRegister.com is a private international platform that may allow users to:

  • register microchipped dogs and cats;
  • create a digital pet profile;
  • obtain a ChipRegister ID;
  • generate QR codes and registration certificates;
  • search for a microchip number;
  • report a found pet;
  • facilitate protected contact with an owner;
  • store photographs and identification information;
  • receive missing-pet or found-pet notifications.
Important: ChipRegister.com is not necessarily a governmental, municipal or legally mandatory animal registry. Registration does not replace any official registration, veterinary, health, travel or ownership requirement applicable in the user's country.

4. User eligibility and responsibilities

By using the platform, you confirm that:

  • you are an adult or otherwise legally authorised to enter into the transaction;
  • you have the right to register the pet;
  • the information you provide is truthful and accurate;
  • you will not knowingly register a microchip belonging to another person's animal;
  • you will keep your contact and pet information reasonably current;
  • you will not use the service for fraud, harassment, extortion or another unlawful purpose.

5. Ownership and registration disputes

A ChipRegister.com registration or certificate is not, by itself, conclusive legal proof of ownership.

In the event of a dispute, we may:

  • suspend or limit the pet profile;
  • request ownership or veterinary documents;
  • restrict transfers or profile changes;
  • contact relevant parties;
  • cooperate with veterinarians, shelters or competent authorities;
  • correct, replace or revoke a certificate.

6. Accuracy of information

Users are responsible for the information they submit, including microchip numbers, contact details, photographs, health information and claims concerning ownership.

ChipRegister.com does not independently guarantee that user-submitted information is authentic, complete or current.

7. Microchip numbers

A microchip number may normally be associated with only one active ChipRegister.com registration.

We may block or review a registration when the microchip:

  • is already registered;
  • has an unusual or invalid format;
  • is subject to an ownership dispute;
  • appears connected with abuse or fraud.

8. Photographs and uploaded content

You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant ChipRegister.com a non-exclusive, worldwide licence, limited to operating and promoting the requested service, to store, resize, reproduce and display that content:

  • in the pet profile;
  • in registration certificates;
  • in authorised missing-pet alerts;
  • in search and identification functions;
  • in account and recovery features.

You must have the right to upload the content. Unlawful, offensive, misleading, malicious or privacy-infringing content is prohibited.

9. Public profiles and found-pet contact

Public profile information is intended only to help identify and safely return an animal.

Users and finders must not:

  • use the information for unsolicited marketing;
  • harass the owner;
  • demand unlawful payments;
  • publish private information;
  • impersonate an authority or organisation;
  • use the service for extortion or fraud.

10. Price

Unless a different price is clearly shown before checkout, registration costs:

15 € per pet as a one-time registration fee.

Microchip searches are free. Optional future services, subscriptions or premium features will be priced separately and disclosed before purchase.

11. Payments

Available payment methods may include:

  • card payment through Stripe;
  • USDT on a specifically indicated blockchain network;
  • other methods displayed during checkout.

The registration is activated and the official certificate is issued only after payment has been confirmed, unless expressly stated otherwise.

The user is responsible for using the exact payment method, amount, token, network and address shown during checkout.

12. Consumer withdrawal rights

Consumers may have a statutory withdrawal period under applicable consumer law. Where the user expressly requests immediate performance of the digital service, statutory withdrawal rights may be affected once the service has been fully supplied, subject to applicable mandatory law.

Where required, checkout will request separate, unselected confirmation that:

The user requests immediate performance before the end of any applicable withdrawal period and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal may be lost after the registration, digital profile and certificate have been fully supplied.

Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer rights.

13. Refund Policy

13.1 General approach

Refund requests are assessed fairly, taking into account:

  • payment status;
  • whether the registration was created;
  • whether the certificate was generated;
  • whether the service was used;
  • the reason for the request;
  • the selected payment method;
  • mandatory consumer law.

Requests must be sent to support@chipregister.com and should include:

  • the account email address;
  • the ChipRegister ID, if available;
  • the microchip number;
  • the payment or transaction reference;
  • the reason for the request;
  • relevant supporting information.

13.2 Cases normally eligible for a full refund

A full refund will normally be considered when:

  1. the user was charged twice for the same registration;
  2. payment was completed but registration could not be created because of a technical error;
  3. payment was accepted even though the microchip was already registered and the service cannot be provided;
  4. ChipRegister.com is unable to provide the purchased service;
  5. payment was made by mistake and performance of the service has not yet begun;
  6. applicable law requires a refund;
  7. an unauthorised transaction is confirmed through the payment provider's applicable procedure.

Where appropriate, a user affected by a technical error may choose between completion of the service without additional charge and a full refund.

13.3 Partial refunds

A partial refund may be considered when:

  • a substantial, separable portion of the purchased service was not provided;
  • a separately purchased feature could not be supplied;
  • applicable law requires a proportionate reduction;
  • ChipRegister.com and the user agree to a fair partial resolution.

13.4 Cases normally not eligible for refund

Subject to mandatory consumer rights, refunds are normally not provided when:

  • the registration has been completed;
  • the digital pet profile has been activated;
  • the certificate has been generated and made available;
  • the user simply changes their mind after full performance;
  • the user entered incorrect information that can be corrected through the platform;
  • the user does not use the service after purchase;
  • an account is suspended because of a material breach of these Terms;
  • USDT was sent using an incorrect token, address or network;
  • the amount sent differs from the amount requested and cannot reasonably be reconciled;
  • ChipRegister.com did not receive the payment.

13.5 Stripe and card refunds

An approved card refund will normally be returned to the original payment method.

Depending on transaction status, a payment may be cancelled before completion or refunded in full or in part after completion.

The time required for the refund to appear depends on Stripe, the card network, the user's bank, country and payment method. ChipRegister.com does not control the processing time of the receiving bank.

13.6 USDT refunds

Blockchain transfers are generally irreversible after confirmation. The user must carefully verify the wallet address, token, amount and blockchain network.

When an USDT refund is approved:

  1. it will normally be made in USDT;
  2. it will be sent only through a network supported by ChipRegister.com;
  3. the user must supply and confirm a compatible wallet address;
  4. identity or transaction-ownership verification may be required;
  5. the refund will not normally exceed the amount of USDT actually received;
  6. network costs may be deducted only where legally permitted and clearly communicated;
  7. ChipRegister.com is not responsible for a refund lost because the user supplied an incorrect address or network.

Recovery cannot be guaranteed where USDT was sent to an unsupported network, incorrect token contract or address not controlled by ChipRegister.com.

13.7 Chargebacks and payment disputes

Users are encouraged to contact support before initiating a bank dispute.

A chargeback may result in temporary suspension of the related registration while the transaction is investigated. ChipRegister.com may provide evidence of the transaction and service delivery to the payment provider.

No user will be penalised for legitimately exercising mandatory consumer rights.

13.8 Review and processing times

We aim to review refund requests within 10 business days.

Approval of a refund does not mean that funds will appear immediately. Banks, card processors and blockchain networks may require additional processing time.

14. ChipRegister certificate

The certificate:

  • confirms that information was recorded in the ChipRegister.com platform;
  • contains information supplied by the user;
  • may include a QR code and barcode;
  • may be updated, replaced, superseded or revoked;
  • does not guarantee legal ownership;
  • does not guarantee recovery of a missing pet;
  • does not replace government-issued documentation.

15. Transfer of ownership

Ownership transfers must use the procedure provided by ChipRegister.com. We may require:

  • approval from the current registered owner;
  • acceptance by the new owner;
  • supporting documents;
  • veterinary confirmation;
  • a security waiting period;
  • manual review.

Creating a second registration to bypass the transfer process is prohibited.

16. Found-pet reports

ChipRegister.com facilitates communication but does not guarantee the identity of a finder, truthfulness of a report, safety of an in-person meeting or return of the pet.

Users should exercise caution, avoid suspicious payment requests and involve a veterinarian or authority where appropriate.

17. Availability and changes to the service

We may modify, suspend or temporarily interrupt parts of the service for maintenance, security, legal compliance, updates, force majeure or failures of third-party providers.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChipRegister.com is not responsible for:

  • failure to locate or recover an animal;
  • incorrect information submitted by users;
  • mistaken identification;
  • acts or omissions of third parties;
  • ownership disputes;
  • losses caused by incorrect crypto wallets or networks;
  • failures of external service providers;
  • indirect losses or loss of opportunity.

Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights and liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence where applicable.

19. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove an account or registration for:

  • fraud or abuse;
  • duplicate or false registration;
  • unlawful conduct;
  • risk to people or animals;
  • non-payment;
  • fraudulent chargebacks;
  • unlawful uploaded content;
  • attempted unauthorised access.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for legal, security, technical or operational reasons. Material changes may be announced on the platform, by email or through a new acceptance request.

21. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain.

Subject to mandatory consumer-protection and jurisdiction rules, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Barcelona, Spain.

Consumers retain any mandatory rights to bring a claim before the courts or consumer authorities legally competent for their place of residence.

22. Complaints and dispute resolution

Before starting formal proceedings, users are encouraged to contact:
